  1. Agony is a documentary project and authenticity is the most important thing. This means no faking! If you can’t, or don’t want to, have a genuine orgasm on camera, this project is not for you.

  2. Whatever you do is fine, so long as it’s what you usually do. We want to see any little habits, rituals, tendencies and idiosyncrasies that you have. We do not want any of the forced responses that you might see in porn like constant moaning, "oh my God" etc.

  3. Those who do sex work, including camming, may be accustomed to performing for the camera. Not here please. Don’t exaggerate or "make it more interesting" – we want you to film the orgasm you have for yourself, not the orgasm you have for an audience.

  4. A Submission requires you to film two videos of your orgasm – and they need to be different. This could mean different lighting, clothing, backgrounds and the way you reach orgasm.

  5. Film your orgasms on different days, or at least with a decent break in between. This means the orgasms will be as intense as they get for you.

  6. You can reach orgasm yourself, or have a friend/partner help you out – it’s fine if we hear them, but if they show their face, they will need to complete a release form (we can’t pay them though, unless they also want to make their own contribution to the Project. If you have a partner/friend who completes the project, you have the option to do a 'friends' video together – see the point at the end of the checklist about the 'friends' videos.)

  7. The video should go for as long as it takes you to build up to, have an orgasm, and cool down afterwards. There is no upper length, and we can edit the video if it is too long for our format. Please don’t rush though; the video should be at least five minutes long – treat yourself!

  8. If you want to have multiple orgasms, go for it! When you are done, please don’t jump up and stop filming straight away. Enjoy the “afterglow” and keeping filming for at least a minute after your orgasm.

  9. Suitable recording devices include high end smart phones such as iPhone11 or later, or equivalent Samsung, or HD video camcorders. DSLR's aren't suitable for Agony, unless you have a professional setup with external microphones, and know how to use it. Webcams or sports action cameras (eg. GoPros) aren't accepted.

  10. It is better to use an add-on microphone, if you have one.

  11. You will need a stable way to mount the camera above/in front of your face (such as a tripod).

  12. The video should be filmed in 4K. You may need to use the rear camera on your phone to achieve this.

Go to Settings on your phone and select 4K (also known as UHD) with a frame rate of 24, 25 or 30 fps.

If you have a recent iPhone, please also disable HDR recording, like this:
Settings > Camera > Record Video > Select 4K at 25fps or 4K at 30fps....(scroll down) Switch HDR Video OFF.

     

  13. If using a DSLR, you must set the focus and exposure manually (the motors in the lens are noisy and will ruin the sound).

  14. It is super important that you shoot somewhere with bright, natural daylight. Please do not use LED ring lights! It's a good idea to position yourself as close as possible to a window and make sure the curtains and blinds are open. Do not shoot at night or with artificial lighting, as the video will not be of high enough quality. Please ensure all artificial lights such as room lights and lamps are switched off. They don't add to daylight, they clash with it.

  15. Eliminate all sources of background noise by turning off heaters, fans, air-conditioners, fridges and computers. Occasional noises from the outside world are okay, but please minimise these by shutting all your windows and doors completely. If you are listening to music or watching porn, please wear headphones so we can’t hear it (due to copyright).

  16. It’s okay to use sex toys if you need to, but if you plan to use one because it is quicker or easier, we ask you to rethink that. This isn't about how fast you can orgasm. Sex toys can be noisy and drown out the natural sounds, so use less noisy ones or muffle the sound with a pillow or blanket. Or better still, just use your hands, if you can.

  17. The camera must be positioned directly above your face (if you're lying down) or in front of your face (if you're sitting up). A common mistake is to have the camera aimed at the top of the head, or looking under the chin. Frame the shot to capture from just above your head, down to about mid body. It is optional whether you remove your top and reveal your breasts.

  18. Use the rear camera if you can. It's a bit harder to set up, but it's a better camera. And you won't be able to see yourself! If you have to use the front camera, you must cover the screen, so you're not distracted. If you look at the screen while you're doing this, we probably won't accept the video. But you can look at the CAMERA at the start, and after your orgasm, if you want to.

  19. Refer to the images on this page for good framing. The ideal framing is from just above the top of your head to the bottom of the breast line.

  20. Sitting Position: Allow some space for movement and think about where your head will move during your orgasm. If you are sitting up, you will definitely slide down gradually as you 'work', so make sure there is some space at the bottom of the frame. You don't need excess space above your head in this position.

  21. Lying position: Allow a little space above your head. Especially if you have a partner helping out, it's likely you'll move up, more than down. Make sure the camera is directly above your nose, looking straight down. It is best to have the camera zoomed out. If your face is not fully in the frame, or the camera is pointing at the top of your head or under your chin, you will need to re-shoot.

  22. If you are using a tripod, it needs to be set up on a solid surface – not your bed! If you are lying down on your back, position the tripod so that you have one leg either side of your shoulders and the third leg behind your head, not in between your legs! (refer to example image). This reduces the chance of you knocking it with your hands and legs. The video might be upside down if set up this way, but we will correct that during editing.

  23. Light colours make the best backgrounds. Please don’t use black, red or heavily patterned backgrounds.

  24. If you have an outdoor place that is free from background noise, especially traffic and wind, you might like to try filming one orgasm outdoors. Even the slightest breeze can ruin the sound quality though, so we recommended filming one extra video indoors just in case we can’t use the outdoor video.

  25. Start fully clothed – we like to hear the removal of clothes below the camera’s view. You may leave your top on or take it off. Although Agony is a non nude project, we "freed the nipple" in 2020 but it is entirely up to you. If your breasts appear but you prefer they aren't shown, let us know and we'll crop the video.

  26. If you are wearing a top, we prefer it reveals the upper part of your chest (ie. a tank top, t-shirt, or bra) – there is often visible tension and changes in skin colour, that we like to see.

  27. Please don’t wear hats, beanies, wigs, sunglasses, hoodies, or clothes with large brand logos. We want to see you!

  28. Please don't wear lipstick or lip gloss, and less makeup is always better. This isn't a beauty forum so "going-out" makeup isn’t appropriate – we want to see the natural you. If you have long hair, it will look great untied, and around your shoulders. Please don't shoot with wet hair.

  1. For the Confessions interview, we want to see all of you, not just your face. Choose a comfortable location (your bed, couch, favourite armchair etc.) It needs to have lots of bright natural daylight and be free from background noise. Turn the room lights off (a lamp is OK) and position yourself with a window to your front or side, but please don’t sit directly in front of the window.

  2. Set up the camera so that it's positioned horizontal to the ground and at your eye height. Zoom out so you capture your whole body, as this video is not just about the face. You don’t need to allow extra space. Some good examples are shown in the pictures on this page.

  3. As we can see all of you, think about how you present yourself. Is a dirty t-shirt and sweat pants really your best look? Pay attention to what is in the background too.

  4. Please don’t smoke on camera.

  5. "Confessions" is all about Stories. A good story has an Event, a Reaction, and lots of Detail.

  6. Please try to talk for at least 15 minutes. Answer the questions with lots of detail; don’t skimp on the juicy bits! As Agony is all about authenticity, we just want true stories.

Example of a story: "I had my first orgasm in church"

Example of a GOOD story: "I was with my first boyfriend and we used to explore old places. One night we broke into a church and thought it would be funny to have sex at the altar. He lay on the carpet and I rode on top of him. Just as I came we heard someone unlocking the front door so we bolted out the back but I left my panties behind. It was my first orgasm and almost my first arrest"

  7. Try to answer most of the questions, but you can skip some if you don't have suitable answers. There are also some additional topics that you may want to address, and feel free to talk about anything that's related.

  8. If you're talking about an experience that occurred before you turned 18, please don’t mention the specific age, as we don’t want to sexualise children. You can just refer to yourself as ‘younger’, or a ‘teenager’.

  9. You can do this alone, or get a friend to ask you the questions and we will edit their voice out. Either way, please answer the questions in a full sentence so that we know the context of your story.

  10. Confessions need to be in English, as that is the editor's language (and most viewers). You don't need to be a good English speaker! If you're not confident, you can get a friend to translate from behind the camera. It's important that you don't speak over each other or make it a conversation. We want to edit out their voice without interrupting the story.

  11. If you have the questions or answers written down, put them out of sight while you're answering.
